Local Activities There is so much to see and do in Sydney but we'll do our best to highlight some of the key features. Sydney is a city that is known for its beautiful harbour, great shopping and yummy restaurants and cafes. The average temperature in Spring is 19 - 23 degrees Celsius and you may need a jacket of an evening. The Rocks The ceremony will be held at Observatory Hill Park, located in the Historic Rocks. The Rocks is one of Sydney's oldest suburbs and is now a historic old town quarter. It is also where members of the First Fleet stepped ashore in 1788. You can join a walking tour or simply wander around the place yourself. There are always buskers around to provide some entertainment and many fabulous shops and fascinating museums and galleries to wander through. It is also here where you can climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge (bookings required), look at the stars (at Sydney Observatory) and board a cruise around the harbour (from Circular Quay). Visit the Rocks visitor information site for more information Darling Harbour The reception will be held at Cockle Bay Wharf, Darling Harbour. There is much to see and do around the Darling Harbour precinct. Besides the many shops, cafes and restaurants, you would need several days to visit all the attractions around Darling Harbour. If you are into animals, you might want to consider visiting the Sydney Aquarium or the newly built Sydney Wildlife World. Otherwise you can watch a movie on the big screen at the IMAX theatre or visit the Australian National Maritime Museum or Powerhouse Museum. If you're after some relaxation, make believe that you're out of the city by visiting the Chinese Garden of Friendship. For the adults, there's also the Star City Casino which is only a short stroll away. Visit www.darlingharbour.com for more ideas on what you can do in Darling Harbour. Shopping There is a lot of retail therapy available in the city, besides The Rocks and Darling Harbour you could spend days wandering through shops in and around the Pitt St Mall. The Queen Victoria Building not only contains three levels of shops but is a beautiful building in itself. You might also consider taking a break while shopping at the Centrepoint building and going up the Centrepoint Tower where you can gain an endless view of Sydney. Other Attractions From Luna Park and Taronga Zoo on the north side of the harbour to the iconic Sydney Opera House, the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens, the many historic buildings and lively clubs, pubs and bars, you will be hard pressed just to find the time to do it all! Visit www.sydney.com.au for information on sites, attractions and travel.
