Ceremony - Observatory Hill Park, Upper Fort St, Millers Point, The Rocks Since our first moments together were spent looking at the Sydney Harbour Bridge, we decided to get married at Observatory Hill Park, which provides an uninterrupted view of the very same bridge. At 2pm on Saturday 6 October 2007, we will begin celebrating our marriage ceremony and invite all our family and close friends to begin arriving from 1.30pm to witness our union. The park is situated at the highest point in the city and the ceremony will be held on the lawn under the giant Moreton Bay Fig trees, near the Rotunda. Observatory Hill Park, located in the Rocks is right beside the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Getting there is easy with many transport options available to choose from (see below). We have also provided some details on things you can see and do around The Rocks on the Local Activities page.
By Car There is limited street parking available at Observatory Hill Park, on Upper Fort Street and Watson Road. There is also street parking in nearby Argyle Street and Kent Street which borders the park as well as in surrounding streets. Always make sure you check the signs for parking restrictions. There is a secure parking station located at 55 Harrington Street in the Rocks (next to the Clocktower Shopping Centre and near the corner of Argyle Street). There is a $20 flat rate for all day parking on Saturday. There are also other parking stations available around The Rocks. By Foot Observatory Hill Park is an easy 15 minute stroll from Circular Quay Station or 20 minutes from Sydney's CBD. As you walk down George Street, past Circular Quay and heading for The Rocks, turn left into Argyle Street (which becomes Argyle Cut). Continue up the steps opposite the Garrison Church. Continue up Watson Road and Observatory Hill Park is in front of you. By Train, Bus or Ferry Major Sydney public transport networks of CityRail and STA Buses connect with The Rocks. Take a train or ferry to Sydney's Circular Quay station and from there, it is a short walk to Observatory Hill Park. Alternatively, catch a bus into the Rocks area and stroll up to the Hill instead.
